A. 抵抗，反抗；抗拒（stand up or offer resistance to somebody or something）

The little girl can never resist an ice cream. 那个小女孩一见到冰淇淋就忍不住想吃。

Many young people could not resist the drug. 很多年轻人不能抵制毒品。

They are determined to resist the enemy’s invasion. 他们决定抵抗敌人的入侵。

B. 抵制，抵御 (express opposition through action or words)
